A consortium of neighborhood-based community development organizations, DECC was recognized for leveraging more than 30 stakeholders to construct the Conner Creek Greenway with an all-volunteer staff.

A leading conservation organization dedicated to the Chain of Lakes watershed in Antrim County, TLA was recognized for bringing a diverse group of partners together, which resulted in a model to predict the effects of land use changes on water quality.

The Guidance Center recognized that adult success in employment, particularly during an economic crisis, is rooted in early childhood education and childcare. At the same time, the loss of high-paying jobs will force more families to send both parents into the workforce…further increasing the need for childcare options. The Guidance Center was honored for bringing accessible, affordable, quality child-care to families in economic recovery.
