DTE Energy received the 2007 Gold Achievement Award for Industrial Material Recycling from the EPA’s WasteWise program. | Neighborhood Environmental Partners Gold Award
The River Rouge Power Plant received the Neighborhood Environmental Partners (NEP) Gold Award from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality in July 2008. River Rouge, the first DTE Energy power plant to win the award, worked with several local partners to restore a section of the Detroit River to natural conditions using “softshore engineering.” The once barren, gravel shoreline is now a natural habitat with native plants, fish and other wildlife. The NEP award represents more than just an accolade for the company; it demonstrates the importance of community and the environment to DTE Energy. |
