Environmental Management & Resources (EM&R), working with DTE Energy management, businesses, government, community and other opinion leaders, will provide practical environmental solutions that ensure compliance. minimize liability, improve effectiveness of existing and future assets, enhance the company's image and influence and support corporate direction.

EM&R provides environmental direction and services to DTE Energy in accordance with DTE Energy core values and the EM&R vision and mission. We are committed to:

• Create and maintain DTE Energy's focus on compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements and environmental enhancement beyond compliance,
• Lead and influence development and implementation of environmental laws and regulations that are based on good science,
• Influence DTE Energy organizations in engaging in pollution identification, control, reduction and, prevention,
• Identify, manage and minimize risks and liabilities to and from the environment, and
• Continually improve how we deliver these services through a strong customer focus and the use of objectives, targets and projects.

Peaker Group

The Peaking Unit Organization maintains the combustion turbines and diesel engines used to provide peak power as well as black start capability.

Environmental Policy

The Peaking Unit Organization manages equipment maintenance and asset preservation for 21 sites at 19 locations by providing peak power, black start and electrical system security.

Together we strive to:

• Prevent or control pollution;
• Comply with environmental regulations, the DTE corporate policy, and other applicable requirements;
• Continue and further the tradition of environmental stewardship;
• Continually improve our EMS by setting environmental targets and objectives; and
• Provide support to site custodial organizations.
