In order to achieve this goal, DTE Energy uses time and resources to maintain and improve its electric infrastructure. However, no electric utility is outage-proof, in good weather or in bad.

DTE Energy routinely visits areas throughout our service territory to inspect and maintain utility poles, power lines, and other electrical equipment. By applying industry-leading inspection methods and advanced thermo-imaging technologies, we are able to identify conditions that would otherwise be undetected - preventing a potential power outage.

Our goal is to provide the most reliable and affordable electric service to our 2.1 million customers. The system maintenance program is just one of many efforts in place at DTE Energy designed to achieve it.
