PLUG-IN READY OPTION #1

DTE Energy $2,500 incentive and D1.9 Electric Vehicle Rate

The first 2,500 customers who purchase a plug-in vehicle and enroll in the D1.9 rate will receive a separately-metered, 240-volt charging station (up to $2,500 value) free! Hurry and enroll now. This offer is for a limited time only.

In order to qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a DTE Energy electric customer with an active account.
  2. Own your own home or provide written approval from your landlord or property owner.
  3. Vehicle must be SAE J-1772 compliant.
  4. You must have a dedicated parking spot at your residence.
  5. You must take delivery of your vehicle or be able to show proof of ownership of your vehicle.

To complete the qualification process for the DTE Energy $2,500 incentive, please complete the steps below:

8 Easy Steps for Qualification

Step 1 Step #1 Complete the Program Application & Submit Proof of Ownership

Complete the DTE Energy PEV application and submit your proof of ownership (RD108 Form*  or Michigan Registration) by e-mail to pev@dteenergy.com or fax 313.235.1170.

Step 2Step #2 Fill Out and Sign the Plug-In Electric Vehicle Agreement

Once DTE Energy receives your application and Michigan Registration (or RD-108 form*), you will receive an e-mail that contains our customer agreement. Complete this agreement and send it back to DTE Energy.

Step 3Step #3 Complete an Online Assessment

Complete an online assessment:   DTE Energy will send you an e-mail with a link to the online assessment which will provide us with information about your current home set-up, electrical needs, and vehicle parking plan.

Step 4Step #4 Schedule a Home Assessment

Next, a representative of SPX, our home installation service provider, will contact you to schedule an electrician to assess your home and provide a quote for installation of your charging station.  Following this service visit, you will receive an installation quote for your review and approval.

Step 5Step #5 Schedule the Installation

Upon quote approval, an SPX representative will contact you to schedule the installation.

Step 6Step #6 Complete the Installation

A licensed electrician will request a permit for installation and meet you at your home to complete the installation of the charging station and the separate meter wiring.

Step 7Step #7 Schedule the Inspection

After the installation is complete, an SPX representative will coordinate an inspection with your local jurisdiction. An SPX representative will also contact you regarding an appointment date for inspection. You MUST be home when this inspection takes place.

Step 8Step #8 Second Meter Installation

Upon your inspection approval, your contractor will notify DTE Energy and we will schedule your second meter installation. You do NOT have to be home for the installation. The installation will take place in about 3-5 business days.

Congratulations and Welcome!

After your meter is installed, you will be receiving a DTE Energy welcome kit by mail, which will include post- installation support as well as information on who to contact if you have any further questions or concerns.

 

PLUG-IN READY OPTION #2

D1.9 Electric Vehicle Rate Only

In order to qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. DTE Energy Electric customer with an active account.
  2. Have an approved level 2 (220/240 volt) charging station that has been installed according to National Electrical Code (NEC) 625.
  3. Have a separate electric vehicle meter (D1.9).
