Customers with on-site generation have several rate options to choose from. Please read the rates below and select the most applicable rate for your application customer generation.
- Net Metering Rider No. 16 - The most utilized rate option for renewable generation with capacity of 20kW or less. For this class of projects, termed category 1, the customer is billed by the company under his standard rate (e.g. Rate Schedule D1 - Residential Service Rate, Rate Schedule D3 – General Service Rate and Rate Schedule D6 – Primary Supply Rate) for any positive value of inflow less outflow. The customer is eligible to receive full retail power supply and delivery credit for any energy sent to the utility (positive values of outflow less inflow), that can offset energy provided by the utility in subsequent months.
- Standard Contract Rider No. 6 - Small Power-producing Facilities - Rider 6 is available to most customers, including residential customers, who develop small power-producing facilities and sell electricity to Detroit Edison. To qualify for this rider, the customer must obtain qualifying status from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission . See our rate book for the tariff.
- Standard Contract Rider No. DG, Distributed Generation - Available to residential and commercial customers with onsite distributed generation of no more than 100 kW who wish to operate in parallel with the Detroit Edison system. See our rate book for the tariff.
