DETROIT, April 15, 2021 – DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) announced the appointment of David Palsrok as director of State Government Affairs, leading the company's policy and advocacy efforts in Lansing, Mich. Palsrok will work closely with state legislators and the governor’s administration to meet the needs of DTE’s customers and stakeholders.
“David’s natural ability to build strong, authentic relationships and his experience in energy and environmental policy make him a perfect fit for this role,” said Renze Hoeksema, vice president, Corporate and Government Affairs, DTE Energy. “I’m excited to have David join our leadership team, and see the impact he'll have in Lansing.”
Palsrok was previously the government policy advisor in Dykema’s Lansing, Mich. office. In that role, Palsrok managed various clients on multiple public policy issues with a focus on economic development, higher education, financial services, energy, insurance, transportation and taxation. Prior to joining Dykema, Palsrok served as vice president of government relations for the Small Business Association of Michigan. In that role, he was responsible for expanding the association’s political and strategic relationships.
Palsrok also served as a state representative in the Michigan House of Representatives for six years where he served on a number of committees including as chair of the Great Lakes and Tourism; Natural Resources; and Land Use and Environment committees. He also served as chair of the Financial Services; and Energy subcommittees.
Throughout his career, Palsrok earned several Legislative Leadership Awards including from the Michigan Soft Drink Association, Michigan Manufacturers Association, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Credit Union League, Heart of the Lakes Conservancy, Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, and MIRS Ten Most Effective Legislators.
Palsrok graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He has been on the board of directors of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs and a member of the Manistee, Mi., Jaycees
