Brad Carroll joins DTE Energy as director of communications for external affairs and environmental, social and corporate governance

DETROIT, Oct. 11, 2022 — DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) today announced the appointment of Brad Carroll as director of communications for external affairs and environmental, social and corporate governance. 

Carroll will lead communications related to DTE’s support for communities, including corporate citizenship, environmental leadership and governance. The company’s goal is to transparently share sustainability strategies to help drive progress across the communities we serve and in our industry.

Carroll comes to DTE from Ford Motor Company where he served as director of autonomous vehicle and mobility communications. There he led strategic communications development and execution for Ford’s autonomous vehicle research, user experience, fleet management and business development teams. Previously, Carroll served as director of global communications for Ford Credit, as well as holding various roles on the Ford corporate communications team during his time with the automaker.

Prior to his time at Ford, Carroll spent over a decade in Washington, DC in various communication and external affairs roles, including working as the Senior Vice President of Communications for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, Director of Communications at the White House Domestic Policy Council, serving as Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce and as Associate Director of Public Affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Carroll also worked for President Obama’s 2008 presidential race, where he served as the deputy communications director for Michigan and he began his career in Washington working in various roles in the Office of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, including as her press secretary.

Carroll graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science
