Installing New Service

DTE Energy makes it simple for contractors to plan and install electric or gas service at construction projects.

Builders installing or relocating service connections on construction projects can request new service, modify an existing connection, get status updates and find important information on how to connect to DTE Energy service.

Please note: All new, relocated or upgraded residential service connections will be installed as underground residential service laterals at the customer’s expense.

Project Planning

Access maps that identify the location of electric and natural gas lines on and around your construction site.

Service Areas

The Michigan Public Service Commission maintains a list of all electric and natural gas utilities registered in the state of Michigan.

To determine if DTE Energy provides electric and/or natural gas service at your location, the MPSC offers an online search feature.
