Automatic Transfer of Service

The Automatic Transfer of Service program is designed to provide an efficient transfer of service responsibility from tenant to the landlord without service interruption.

The plan enables continuous electric and/or gas service to the rental properties the landlord owns or manages. When a tenant calls for service to be stopped, the meter will remain on and the service will automatically be placed back in the landlord’s name.

How to Enroll

Landlords can enroll in the ATS program three ways:

  1. Create an online account or sign in and enroll your properties within the Manage My Properties section.
  2. Complete the Automatic Transfer of Service - Enrollment Authorization Form and email it to landlord_acct@dteenergy.com or mail it to the address on the form.
  3. Contact Landlord Customer Care at (800) 482-8720 (option 2).
