  1. Visit the Find a Contractor Tool
  2. Enter the home address, city, or zip and select "Insulation" under the "Services Provided" tab to find a contractor.

  4. Get your rebate in 4 to 6 weeks.

You qualify for an insulation rebate if DTE is the primary provider of your home’s heat (most DTE natural gas and natural gas/electric combination customers qualify). Premise eligibility is limited to single family homes. Single family homes are defined as 2 or less connected units. Each unit must be individually metered for natural gas and electric and each unit must have its own heating, cooling and water heating equipment. New construction homes do not qualify.

  Insulation Tips

Save Up to 10% Annually

Add insulation and seal air leaks around your home to increase comfort and energy efficiency while saving up to 10% on your annual energy costs.

R-Value for Attic Insulation

Insulation levels are specified by R-Value, a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the better the thermal performance of the insulation. For example, the recommended insulate level for most attics is minimum of R-38, or about 10 to 14 inches.

Insulate Your Water Heater

Water heaters are the second highest source of energy use in homes. Insulate with a water heater blanket to prevent heat loss. Hire a contractor to ensure the blanket doesn’t cover an electric panel, gas valve or pressure release.
