Limited Income Assistance

A more energy efficient home can lower your monthly bill.

You may qualify for FREE energy efficiency products and services.

How it works

If you want to make your home more energy efficient and have limited income, you may qualify for help through DTE's Energy Efficiency Assistance (EEA) program.

As a participant in the program you may be eligible to receive multiple energy efficient products to help reduce your monthly energy bill and make your home more comfortable, all at no cost to you. Here are steps to follow:

  1. Confirm your household income eligibility using the chart below.
  2. Contact a participating organization, based on your location, with this handy list of organizations.
  3. A home energy visit will be scheduled to identify the types of services and products your home needs for better energy efficiency.
  4. Based on the home energy visit, a licensed contractor will be scheduled to install the energy efficient products.

Enjoy the comfort and bill savings of your more energy efficient home!

You are eligible for DTE’s EEA program if your household income is at or below 200% percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Your active enrollment in the Low Income Self Sufficiency Plan or other state low-income public assistance programs (SNAP, WIC, etc.) also qualifies you for the program.
