Find and Repair Leaks

Compressed air leaks can cause a loss of 20-30% of your systems production. Fixing leaks is a quick, low-cost way to save energy and improve the efficiency of your current system. Energy savings typically offset the cost of the project in less than one year, making it a great way to improve your production with minimal to no down time.

Compressed AIr Nozzle

Free Compressed Air Nozzles

With our free nozzle replacement program, we can replace your fixed or handheld nozzles at no cost to you. You could save up to $3,600 and 72,000 kWh annually per nozzle and reduce your overall compressed air use (CFM) by up to 75%. These nozzles meet OSHA standards and will also decrease the noise level up to 10 dBA. To get your free nozzles, contact us to schedule an appointment with one of our Energy Advisors.

Frequently Asked Questions about Compressed Air Rebates

DTE commercial and industrial customers in good standing are eligible for compressed air rebates. You must be a DTE electric customer, since compressed air measures are tied to electric energy use.

A reservation is strongly encouraged for all compressed air projects and is required before starting any custom project. Reserving your project pre-approves your rebate amount and holds funding from DTE’s limited rebate pool. Starting work before receiving your reservation letter could disqualify you from receiving a rebate.

Submit your reservation application online before any work begins — including removing old equipment. DTE has up to 14 days to conduct any required pre-upgrade inspections. Once approved, you'll receive a reservation letter confirming your funds are held. From there, you have 90 days to complete your project or until Nov. 30, 2026.

A qualifying audit must measure compressor kW, pressure and flow rate and include a leak detection survey that identifies leaks by location and size in CFM. You must repair at least 50% of the total leakage identified. See the Program Rebate Catalog for full documentation requirements.

Submit your application online along with required documentation including itemized invoices and manufacturers' specification sheets. You're not required to use a participating contractor to complete your project.

Yes, you can apply for multiple energy efficiency upgrades in a single application. For example, if you’re upgrading your LED case lighting and adding night covers in the same project, both can be included. Contact a DTE Energy Advisor at (855) 748-2525 or email saveenergy@dteenergy.com to confirm which upgrades can be combined for your specific business.
