Why DTE Surge Protection Plus

Basic Generators

With the typical generator, you’re often dealing with multiple extension cords – a messy, inconvenient and potentially unsafe solution.

Plugging in too many extension cords, or the wrong one, can cause unnecessary strain on the generator and risk damaging it.

Bottom line: Low cost, but creates unsafe conditions while decreasing the efficiency of the generator.

Transfer Switch

During installation, you are required to identify which circuits will power on via the transfer switch.

Once the transfer switch is installed, you won’t be able to power any circuits that weren’t identified at the time of installation.

Bottom line: Average cost is $1,500 and you’re confined to predetermined circuits.

Surge Protection Plus

You get to choose the circuits you want powered. This allows you the flexibility to supply electricity to the appliances and devices you need during the day.

  • Easy access for your generator
  • One connection cable instead of multiple extension cords
  • Surge protection for your home

Bottom line: Only $22.99 per month for powerful protection.
