Switching to LED lighting and smart controls can reduce energy use by up to 90% while improving visibility and comfort inside your business. LEDs last up to 15 times longer than traditional lighting, so you replace them less often and save on maintenance. DTE rebates can help make upgrading more affordable.
Limited time offer! In addition to the standard rebate get an extra 40% rebate on eligible lighting products. Through November 30, 2026. Funding is limited, so don't wait.

DTE commercial and industrial customers in good standing are eligible for lighting rebates. Your project must be installed at a DTE-serviced facility. Customers in multifamily buildings or residential complexes are not eligible for this program but can participate in the DTE Multifamily Program.
Yes, select lighting measures are eligible for new construction projects. When applying, choose "new construction" as your project type in the online application. Multifamily property owners should apply through the DTE Multifamily Program instead.
Not all LEDs qualify. Only DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) listed products are eligible. Standard screw-in LED bulbs aren't eligible.
Complete the online rebate application and include all required documentation. You’ll need to include itemized invoices, manufacturers’ specification sheets and any other applicable documentation for the equipment installed.
A reservation application is strongly encouraged for all lighting projects and is required for certain projects, including custom ones. A reservation pre-approves your rebate amount and holds funding from DTE’s limited rebate pool. Starting your project before receiving your reservation letter could disqualify you from receiving a rebate.
Submit your application online along with required documentation including itemized invoices and manufacturers' specification sheets. You're not required to use a participating contractor to complete your project. Please note that some projects require a reservation.
Your final application must be submitted within 60 days of project completion or by November 30, 2026 — whichever comes first. If you received a reservation, your project must be completed within 90 days of your reservation letter or by November 30, 2026.
Yes, you can apply for multiple energy efficiency upgrades in a single application, and electric and gas rebates can be combined if you’re a DTE customer for both. Check the rebate catalog or contact a DTE Energy Advisor to confirm which upgrades can be combined for your specific project.
