DTE offers a rebate toward the cost to install Level 2 EV charging stations for public workplaces, shopping areas or other parking facilities.

Charger Rebate

Up to $2,500 per Level 2 port

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have an active DTE electric business account that is in good standing and up to date on payments.
  • Be located at a workplace, shopping destination or other parking facility that is open and accessible to the public.
  • Have the right to install, own, operate and maintain EV supply equipment on the project site, which must be located in DTE’s electric service territory.

You must also agree to:

  • Maintain new EV supply equipment for at least 5 years.
  • Install a separate meter to power the equipment.
  • Keep each installed charger available and operational 97% of the time.

Steps to Apply

You will receive an email confirming that your application was submitted. DTE then reviews your application and sends an approval or rejection email or follow-up questions to you.

Note: If your charger installation is dependent on receiving an EV Charger Rebate, do not proceed to Step 5 until you’ve received formal approval from DTE.
